Evidence Informed Decision Making Tool
Welcome to your (Evidence Informed) Decision Making tool for allied health services for children with developmental or disability needs in rural and remote areas. This has been built on global evidence and will help you structure your models of care. All of these models of care have been found to improve the quality of health service delivery.
Drivers
These are the motivations for implementing the model of care. These are the problems YOU and your business or area might be facing. Select as many as apply to you, or even what is most pressing.
Models of Care
Select which style of model of care you intend to deliver your service with.
Definitions
Screening services: Where assessments are conducted to identify those with needs, and direct appropriate referrals or deliver treatment (this could be via visiting clinics for example).
Consultative services: Acting to provide education to local communities including AHPs, parents/carers, and education staff.
Role substitution: Differing from consultative models, role substitution requires the use of someone to take on the role of what would be expected of another discipline. This includes transdisciplinary models.
Online services: Online-based services, delivered as a typical clinic-style service via the internet or teletherapy methods
Barriers: These are things you could face when implementing or delivering these models of care or things that made the new model of care challenging.
Enabling strategies: These are anything that aimed to, or will potentially help the model to work or improve outcomes.
